Sin City Bars

September 12th, 2008. filed under: Baking.
I made these Sin City Bars for a BBQ I went to. They were a tad too rich for my kind of taste, but they were a HUGE hit among others. If I ever make them again, I will use peanut butter chips in place of the butterscotch chips.

SIN CITY BARS
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 heaping cup graham cracker crumbs
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup grated coconut
1 cup chopped pecans (or other nuts)
DIRECTIONS:
Remove butter from wrapper and place butter in 9-by-13-inch pan. Place in oven, turn heat to 350 degrees and heat until just melted, about 8 minutes. Meanwhile, remove label from can of sweetened condensed milk, open can and remove lid and place can (without lid or label) in oven beside pan with butter to heat slightly.
When butter is just melted, remove from oven and pour graham cracker crumbs over melted butter. Pat down with back of spoon to spread evenly in pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coconut and pecans. Pour heated sweetened milk evenly over all. Do not stir. Bake about 25 to 30 minutes. Cool completely before cutting.
LIGHTEN IT UP:
Substitute fat-free sweetened condensed milk for regular and save 10 calories and 1 g fat per serving.

XOXO,

Mandi
